Loyola dominates St. Ignatius for 10th straight win
WILMETTE — Loyola overcame a sluggish first half Tuesday to put away St. Ignatius in convincing fashion.
The Ramblers’ 53-36 victory was their 10th in a row and moved them to 6-0 in the GCAC Red and one win away from claiming the outright regular-season championship.
Loyola (16-5 overall) plays Mother McAuley at home Thursday for that honor, and Ramblers coach Jeremy Schoenecker told the team to treat it like a playoff game.
“We want them to prepare like it’s possibly our last game,” he said. “We are excited for the opportunity.”
Senior guard Anna Schueler led Loyola with 12 points, while junior guard Maggie Nick contributed 11 points.
