Thanks to Winnetka Fire Department

I would like to express my appreciation to the Winnetka Fire Department for their recent assistance in what was a non-emergency event.

We live on the fourth floor of a condominium building and when the elevator became inoperative, we called the Fire Department to ask if they could give assistance to my wife who is disabled, in getting her down the four flights of stairs when it became necessary for us to leave the building. They not only responded promptly but arranged to have her carried back up the stairs when we returned four hours later.

The two paramedics involved, Chris and Scott, were both highly professional and empathetic to the problem which was very much appreciated. We thank them very much and feel that they are indicative of the entire Winnetka Fire Department.
