Officer Friendly visit

Children in preschool at Northfield Community Nursery School got a special lesson about Halloween safety Oct. 29. Officer Friendly from the Northfield Police Department met with 3- and 4-year-olds and talked about waiting to eat trick-or-treat candy until they had parents’ OK, staying with grown-ups when traveling the neighborhood on Halloween, and wearing reflective clothing and carrying a flashlight if out after dark. He then passed out shiny bags with a dual purpose, combining high visibility with good candy-holding capacity.
