Lifelong Learning classes
Close out the dog days of summer by enrolling in an Oakton Alliance for Lifelong Learning class.
Basic Print Reading and Shop Theory (MCH A19-C01) — This course provides general shop training. Content includes study of machine shop theory with focus on reading machine prints and how to use measurement devices. Fifteen-week course meets 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays starting Aug. 29 at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee is $375.
Industrial Design Engineering (DES A14-C02) — Familiarize yourself with industrial design and its place in the manufacturing process. Fourteen-week course meets 4-6 p.m. Thursdays starting Aug. 30 at Oakton’s Skokie campus. Course fee is $450.
Introduction to System Analysis and Design (CPT A64-C01) — Course presents the systems development life cycle of a computer. Thirteen-week course meets 6-8:50 p.m. Thursdays starting Aug. 30 at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $291.
Topics in CIS: JSP Programming (CPT A02-C03) — Learn how to design, build, test and configure Web applications using JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology. Fifteen-week course meets 6-9:50 p.m. Thursdays starting Aug. 30 at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus. Course fee is $420.
Basic AutoCAD for Interior Design (DES A18-C01) — Course introduces computer-aided design with emphasis on interior design applications. Students will use the computer to draw and plot floor plans, lighting and electrical plans, and elevations. Thirteen-week course meets 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays starting Aug. 31. Course fee is $450.
