No charges after teen party in Glencoe

Glencoe Police, called to a loud teen party Saturday night that apparently included drinking, turned over eight youths to their parents.
No arrests or citations were given.
Police arrived at the house at shortly before 11 p.m., and were not allowed in the door, Lt. Richard Bookie said. Inside, youths could be seen milling around.
Eventually, an adult resident came to the door, but would not let police in.
Later, he opened the door, said his daughter was at home, and he’d handle the situation.
Police, upon first arriving at the house in the 800 block of Vernon Ave., met two 16-year-old boys — one from Glencoe and one from Wilmette — who seemed to have been drinking. One reportedly was carrying a small amount of marijuana.
Police stayed in the vicinity, and later met three 15-year-olds, two more 16-year-olds, and one 18-year-old, all of whom said they had been drinking at the house, Bookie said.
The youths, from Northfield, Wilmette, Glencoe and Winnetka, were turned over to their parents. Bookie said none had records of trouble in Glencoe, and all had been cooperative with police.
The homeowner said he had been asleep and unaware of activities in his home, and had not let police in the house due to not being completely awake when they arrived, Bookie said.
