B’nai Torah and North Shore Congregation Israel have agreed to optimize their joint resources to create educational programming for their members.
The collaboration will provide both congregations with the ability to maintain their unique identities, existing clergy, and separate facilities while providing an enhanced educational experience.
“North Shore Congregation Israel is pleased to work with B’nai Torah,” said Judy Wexler, president, North Shore Congregation Israel. “This collaboration will allow both congregations to maintain their independence, enhance the educational experiences for all of our children, and save on infrastructure costs.”
”We believe this is an exciting opportunity to create a joint collaboration with another synagogue. Since we joined the Union of Reform Judaism a few months ago, we have learned that joint collaboration amongst neighboring synagogues is gaining popularity across North America,” said Andy Lask, president, B’nai Torah.
North Shore Congregation Israel is a Reform Jewish congregation in Glencoe with a membership of 1,200. B’nai Torah is also a Reform Jewish congregation located in Highland Park, with a membership of 300.
Both congregations will hold a series of meetings to answer any questions their members and school parents may have about the collaboration. Visit www.nsci.org or www.bnaitorahhighlandpark.org for meeting dates and further information.
