WINNETKA — After selling their former clubhouse on Maple Street, The Winnetka Club announced their newly designed website will serve as their online gathering place.
The new website, www.thewinnetkaclub.com, allows members and residents to access information about the club’s history, book groups, scholarships and philanthropy, membership information and the youth auxiliary.
“This is a very old organization and we wanted to update it and bring everyone along with us on that path of progress,” said Kathleen Reichert, communications committee chairwoman.
Reichert said The Winnetka Club’s primary philanthropy is education and scholarship information is now available on the website for area students to view.
“Now they can come to the website, download the application and get a direct contact to our VP of philanthropy who they can reach out to and ask questions,” Reichert said. “This is a big change and we hope to make it easier for students to seek a scholarship in 2013 and beyond.”
The website launches in time for graduating New Trier Township seniors to download applications for college scholarships. The applications are due by Feb. 28 and winners will be announced around graduation time.
Reichert hopes the website will make it easier for members to view upcoming events and see how they can volunteer and donate. Creating a new website for the club has been a welcomed addition for many of their constituents.
“It’s such a change for a club like The Winnetka Club that has been around for over 100 years,” Reichert said. “Feedback has been universally positive. Users like being able to find a way to get what they want at whatever time of day or night they want to.”
