NORTHFIELD — How does a vice-president of a finance company specializing in high risk commercial lending decide to leave her career after 14 years to sell vitamins, skin care products and makeup?
Rachel Rosenberg, a Northfield mom of three said her decision to become an independent consultant for Arbonne International, a California-based company that produces health and wellness products for men and women came down to two things: lifestyle and belief in the products.
“This is a line of high end products with no petrochemicals or parabens,” said Rosenberg, who left her high paying job five years ago and who is now a regional vice-president with 12 representatives under her. “It’s wellness from the inside out, and the products are the best of the best when it comes to quality and how they’re priced.”
Arbonne International began in Switzerland in 1975, and the company has been in the U.S. since 1980, where independent consultants all over the country sell their products. The company has several different lines, including nutrition, weight loss, detox, skin care, anti-aging, spa, cosmetics and a men’s line.
Rosenberg said she began using the products when her mother-in-law recommended them. After three days, she said she was “hooked,” and began sharing them with friends and family. It was a fundraiser, however, that made her realize the potential to make a lot of money.
“My friend’s husband was hit on a motorcycle by a drunk driver and we had a fundraiser to help with ongoing expenses,” said Rosenberg, “By sharing health and wellness products that people were loving and buying anyhow, we were able to generate a generous income stream.”
Rosenberg admits that being successful didn’t come easily, and that it took a lot of hard work and dedication.
“I did what Arbonne told me to do,” she said. “I got out of my comfort zone and I asked people to get me in front of their friends and to try the products. I had to decide that I didn’t care if I got rejected, and then I just talked to people and listened to what they needed.”
Sandy Rabin, a customer of Rosenberg’s said she started using the health and wellness products two years ago to lose weight, and now uses the skin care products, as well.
“I started with the seven-day cleanse and it was so easy,” said Rabin, a Deerfield-based marketing executive who lost 30 pounds in about three months. “Then I started drinking the protein drinks and went from there. I feel so healthy, and it’s not just the weight loss, my overall health has improved.”
Rosenberg said one of her favorite products are fizzy tabs, which are supplements that provide energy and focus, and that offer high antioxidants and an appetite suppressant. She also said the vitamins are top notch, as they include probiotics and digestive enzymes.
“I started using the products and I started seeing a dramatic change,” said customer Greg Eakle, who has been taking Arbonne supplements for two years. “My blood pressure went down, I lost 20 pounds, and my blood sugar and cholesterol went down.”
