The Glencoe Farmers Market opened for the season in a new location, but with fewer vendors than last year.

Market operator Lydia Davis said the new location alongside the Metra station will bring more shoppers to the Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. market than the old location west of Village Hall.

“People in Glencoe knew it was there, but nobody else did,” she said.

For now, there are only four vendors, but she hopes to build that up soon. She was preoccupied before the season started with problems holding onto management of the Ravinia Market, which she said she lost, but will get back in 2013.

One new vendor at the Glencoe market is Bulldog Bakery, a Kosher store from Chicago’s Northwest Side.
