On May 2, 2012, the Glenkirk Benefit Brunch committee celebrated the successes of their fundraising efforts for people with developmental disabilities at a luncheon meeting to kick off efforts for the upcoming Benefit, October 14, 2012, at the Ravinia Green Country Club.

The goal is to welcome 300 guest and raise $250,000 to be directed to meet the home improvements needs by remodeling kitchen, bathrooms and living areas. The activity fund will provide funds for those at Glenkirk without funds of their own, to participate in recreational life. The Next Generation Program will be enhanced to create activities tailored to meet each individuals vocational and enrichment needs. The goal of the program is to use all the resources in the community for vocational, volunteering and recreational opportunities.

At the luncheon were 40 guests, including Eileen Bennin, Olivia Shapiro and Leslie Neilan, all of Highland Park; Glenkirk/Northbrook, CEO John Lipscomb; Gail Multack and Dorothy Abrams, both of Northbrook; Sandy Pernick and Jackie Kimmel, both of Wilmette and Julie Morrison and Harriet Rosenthal, both of Deerfield.
