Festival of Children Foundation Fundraiser: “Carousel of Possible Dreams”, 5-9 p.m. Aug. 3, Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills. 5 p.m. arrival; 5-6:30 p.m. estate tours; 7-9 p.m. Carousel Rides and Reception. Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwestern Indiana. Tickets: $150; sponsorships available. festivalofchildren.org.

JourneyCare formerly Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Fundraiser: 4-7 p.m. Aug. 10, AquaLusion Family Aquatic Center in Langendorf Park, Barrington Park District, 235 Lions Dr., Barrington, (847) 381-0687 Barrington. 20th anniversary. Free swimming, children’s activities, DJ and family fun. Adopt your ducks and watch them race down the slide to win great prizes. One Duck,$5, Family of 6 ducks, $25, Flock of 25 ducks, $100 and a Very Important Duck Race $250 each. Food will be available for sale. All proceeds support the JourneyCare Foundation’s Care for Children Fund, pediatric program which helps children with chronic and life-limiting illnesses and their families live each day to the fullest with comfort, courage, optimism, and always hope; no one ever turned away because of inability to pay.
