First things first: Jena Gambaccini doesn’t shy away from much — bright colors and high-end fashion are but two areas where she stands front and center.
The Northbrook native began her love affair with her heels while working at Never Enough Shoes in Lincolnshire. During her college years at Miami University she knew she wanted to work in fashion — but she couldn’t draw or sew.
But she could write, and her blog, ChiCityFashion.com, hit the Internet in 2010.
“I didn’t think anyone would read it, and I didn’t even tell anyone for three months,” she said in an interview during New York Fashion Week. “When Adam Lippes [fashion designer of the label Adam] invited me to a show, I had to finally tell people.”
And those people told other people, and Gambaccini emerged as a new voice in the still-small coterie of Chicago fashion media.
Gambaccini by day works in social media for eDrop-Off, an exclusive luxury goods eBay boutique in Chicago, landing her a role in VH1’s “House of Consignment.”
Which makes her a triple threat — blogger, fashionista and, now, TV personality.
