The Deerfield Festival of Fine Arts kicks off its 10th annual juried weekend of art, music, food and fun from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3, on Park Avenue just north of Deerfield Road.
More than 100 artists will exhibit works in media including painting, photography, jewelry, fiber, sculpture, mixed media and ceramics. They hail from 18 states, some as far away as Arizona, California and New Hampshire.
Featured artist is Prince Duncan-Williams, a fiber artist from Ghana, now living in Nevada, who combines African and American culture in silk creations, inspired by jazz, Picasso and American Indian art. Duncan-Williams was awarded Best of Show in 2011.
The Deerfield-Bannockburn-Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce will host a Dine Out in Deerfield! Several local restaurants will represent the variety of dining in Deerfield at the festival.
Festival entertainers include Kraig Kenning, a first-place winner at the National Slide Guitar Convention, violinist Edgar Gabriel, and singer Nicole Garza.
