Crime Briefs: $5K in jewelry stolen from Winnetka home



Between 1 a.m. and 10:16 a.m. Aug. 17 someone used spray paint to deface the walls of the Sunset Road pedestrian tunnel at 199 Green Bay Road. Repair costs are $300.


Between 6 p.m. Aug. 12 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14 someone stole several pieces of jewelry from a home in the 1200 block of Willow Road. Amount of loss exceeds $5,000.

Between 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 11 a.m. Aug. 12 someone stole a white private street sign worth $600 from the northwest corner of the Hibbard Road and Trapp Lane intersection.


At 10:48 p.m. Aug. 16 a 16 year-old juvenile from New Trier Township was cited for hosting an underage drinking party at a home on Golf Lane. The juvenile was given a Sept. 4 court date.



Between Aug. 7 and 9:29 a.m. Aug. 8 someone broke the front driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Harding Road and stole a black binder containing papers worth $35.


Shavon C.N. Graves, 24, of 24845 Fort Cook Ave., Fall River Mills, Calif., was stopped at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 7 at 2100 Drury Lane and given two local ordinance citations for soliciting without a permit and for disobeying a police officer. Graves was given an Aug. 25 court date.


At 1:20 p.m. Aug. 5 an employee of Convent of the Holy Spirit, 319 Waukegan Road, reported someone used an email account not belonging to her to request money from her coworkers.
