Winnetka and Northfield blotter for June 21, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Winnetka and Northfield police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Winnetka
THEFT
A resident of the 100 block of Sheridan Road discovered that someone had removed a box of sterling silver flatware from the residence between March 18 and June 6. The victim reported the theft to police on June 12 and estimated the loss at $6,000.
A woman living on the 200 block of White Oak Lane reported June 13 that someone had removed items worth about $2,000 from a jewelry box kept in her bedroom. The theft occurred between June 3 and June 8.
A bag filled with athletic shoes meant for donation was taken from an address on the 1000 block of Tower Road on June 11. The victim believed the theft occurred during a 10-minute time span around 1 p.m.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Numerous road signs were marred with red spray paint between June 11 and June 12. A police officer discovered the damage on the 900 and 1000 blocks of Sheridan Road, the 800 block of Green Bay Road and the 600 block of Spruce Street.
Five large boulders at the public-access beach at Spruce Street were sprayed with black paint between midnight and 1:45 p.m. on June 13. The public works staff was notified.
A police officer discovered Sunday that someone had sprayed orange paint on the east side of the overpass on the 1000 block of Tower Road.
Some newly-installed plants at Lloyd Park Beach, 799 Sheridan Rd., were destroyed between June 13 and June 15 when someone drove an all-terrain vehicle up the hill.
DUI
A 35-year-old Wilmette woman was charged with driving under the influence following a stop early June 14 on the 200 block of Sheridan Road. Michelle R. Livaditis, of 2038 Pioneer Lane, also was cited for speeding. Her court date is July 6.
Northfield
BURGLARY
Jewelry was taken Monday during a home burglary on the 200 block of Wagner Road. According to police, one or more intruders forced entry to the front door some time between 10 a.m. and the time the break-in was discovered at 5:53 p.m.. Once inside, the intruders disturbed furnishings and possessions. Police Tuesday were awaiting a list of the items taken and a loss estimate.
THEFT
An employee of Trans World, 1850 Oak St., discovered June 14 that someone had stolen a license plate and bracket off her vehicle while it was parked in lot outside the business. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
